Kind+Jugend starts with new energy in 2021

Suspending for 2020 Kind+Jugend 2021 will take place on 16-19 September 2021 in Cologne

Kind + Jugend suspends for 2020 and starts with new energy in 2021. In spite of strong registration figures for Kind + Jugend in spring 2020, the current developments around Covid-19 and the economic situation came to be increasingly reflected in this trade fair’s situation. In recent weeks, for example, more and more exhibitors have called their participation in Kind + Jugend 2020 into question. With #B-SAFE4business, the detailed package of measures for coronavirus-compliant implementation, Koelnmesse, in consultation with the authorities, laid the basis for organising trade fairs under coronavirus conditions. As the crisis wore on and accompanied with the economic situation, exhibitors and trade visitors began showing increasing hesitation. The latest news about new cases of infection in Germany played a role as well. The current travel situation is still uncertain, too – particularly at the intercontinental level.

That is why a large majority of exhibitors and visitors have decided in recent weeks not to attend Kind + Jugend. Koelnmesse thus reassessed the overall situation and decided that it was best to respond to the cancellations and wishes of a large number of industry exhibitors and trade visitors by not implementing Kind + Jugend 2020. The next edition, Kind + Jugend 2021, will thus be held 16-19 September 2021.

Particularly leading trade fairs such as Kind + Jugend require a certain completeness where exhibitor and visitor attendance are concerned. Internationality at the European and global levels has an important role to play for this trade fair.

As Kind + Jugend intends to remain the most important retail and innovation platform for the industry in future, it is working intensively on concepts and formats that will successfully bring exhibitors and visitors together again in Cologne.

For the international baby and children’s outfitting sector, the central business and networking platform of which is Kind + Jugend, suspension of the 2020 edition of this event will permit an important phase of redesign and realignment to bring fresh impetus to the market in autumn 2021, complete with new energy, new marketing strategies and new products. Kind + Jugend itself will actively facilitate this process while at the same time making intensive use the months leading up to the next trade fair to provide a tailor-made reflection of the needs of the sector in a trade fair and event format.
